Redland Wind Band - Join Us

We do not have fixed entry requirements and as a result our members' musical abilities and experiences are quite varied, from those that took up their instruments more recently, as adults, to the semi-professional. As a very rough guide, you may find that you struggle with our repertoire and therefore do not enjoy your membership if you are not at a playing standard of grade 5 or 6 or above. If you are interested in joining please email us at Get in touch or telephone Joanna on 0117 942 6432. If there is a vacancy that is likely to suit you we will invite you to attend three rehearsals. Following this informal trial you, the band's committee and its conductor will make a decision as to whether you should join the band. The band does not have any instruments to loan to members so you will need to have your own (or have access to someone else's) if you wish to join.

Subscriptions are £30 per quarter (or £15 per quarter for full time students and those on means-tested benefits). Members will also have to purchase a band shirt.

Members are required to attend rehearsals regularly and make themselves available for the vast majority of our public performances. Weekends away and trips abroad, while great fun, are optional. The band rehearses on Monday evenings from 7.30pm to 9.30pm, right through the year (with the exception of public holidays) in the upstairs meeting room of Redland Park United Reformed Church, which is located near the top of Whiteladies Road in Redland, Bristol (BS6 6SA). View on google maps. After rehearsals a few drinks are normally downed in one of the many nearby pubs.

The band performs all over Bristol as well as in nearby locations such as Weston-super-Mare, Bath, Portishead and Yate. Lift shares to all of the band's events can normally be arranged.
